From Jun. 28 to 29, GCL New Energy completed a total of four grid-connected PV power stations in Shanxi, Jilin, Henan and Hebei. In addition to a single form of poverty alleviation funds support, we have designed a variety of poverty alleviation models, such as ‘Agriculture + solar’ and ‘livestock + solar’. These poverty alleviation support not only can help local precision poverty alleviation, but also brings ‘GCL’ to the rural scene.
The new channel of overcome poverty and achieve prosperity
On Jun. 28, Shanxi ‘Yaoguang’ PV poverty alleviation power station (20MW) was grid-connected successfully. This PV power station is designed by ‘Agriculture + solar’ model to help local precision poverty alleviation.
Shanxi ‘Yaoguang’ PV power station， which is located in Zhongyang County, Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, is the key poverty alleviation project in Shanxi Province. In accordance with policy requirements, the power station combined with "Precision poverty alleviation, industry poverty alleviation" concept of photovoltaic poverty alleviation, it can be used to help the total 667 poverty-stricken households, along with the 2 million of annual poverty alleviation fund, total amount 40 million Yuan. After this projects has successfully grid-connected. And this benefit will last for 20 years.
Besides, this PV poverty alleviation power station is also combined with agricultre, through PV industry to improve local agriculture industry, so local farmers can not only get poverty alleviation fund, but also can work for this PV power station to earn wages.
And on the another hand, it can be combined with greenhouse and other forms of agricultural cultivation.: This project design includes a greenhouse 2304 of square meters, and a single building of 690 square meters area, arch shed of 2885 square meters to plant oil peony and Chinese herbal medicines suitable to local soil characteristics , Mainly used in edible fungi and vegetable planting.
GCL brings Poverty alleviation to Song Liao plain
On Jun. 28th, ‘Jilin, Tong Yu, Xin Yuan’ PV poverty alleviation power station (15MW) was grid-connected successfully. Previously, ‘Jilin, Tong Yu, Xiexin’ PV poverty alleviation power station (10MW) has been successfully operationing.
‘Jinlin, Tongyu, Xinyuan’ PV poverty alleviation power station, which is located in Tongyu County, Baicheng City, Jilin Province, is one of the national poverty alleviation projects. Tongyu county is part of Songliao plain, due to many historical and natural reasons, the local infrastructure is lagging behind, making this county became one of poorest natonal counties in China. With the help of the government’s poverty alleviation policy, the number of poor population has reduced from 54598 in 2016 to 17856 in 2017.
Abundant illumination in Tongyu county, belongs to Ⅱ type Solar energy resource Area, so this area is more suitable for developing photovoltaic power generation. Based on these natural resources, GCL New Energy actively develops the PV poverty alleviation enterprise, promotes the rapid development of local economy, and the two PV poverty alleviation power stations have helped more than 900 poverty-stricken households, giving a subsidy of 3000 Yuan to each family each year.
On Jun.29, 2018, ‘Henan, Nan Zhao, Xinli’ grid-connected PV poverty alleviation power station(100MW) was completed successfully, this PV power station is the largest one developed by our company in Henan province, and also is largest one in this area.
After this PV poverty alleviation power station is grid-connected, it will provide annual poverty alleviation fund of 12 million, to giving a subsidy of 3000 Yuan to each family each year, and lasting 20 years.
Based on conditions of the local environment, the company decided to combine the topography and the hot and rainy climatic characteristics of area during the same period, planting kiwifruit, apple, Peach, Xin Yi, Eucommia ulmoides, Dendrobium, Magnolia and other fruits, Chinese herbal medicine and flowers, and promote the level of regional agriculture development.
Besides, the company also develops three different kinds of business, and try to integrate these into one new business model, which is PV power generation, modern agriculture, and Leisure and sightseeing, and adding the technology, ecology and cycle of the concept into this new business model.
‘Livestock + solar’ model
On Jun.29, 2018, the fourth phase of ‘Shang Yi’ PV poverty alleviation power stations (28MW) was grid-connected successfully, and before this time period, three early phases of this project with a total integrated capacity of 180MW had already been grid-connected and operating.
The fourth phase of ‘Shangyi Xiexin PV Power Plant in Shangdong Procince’ is located in Shangyi county, Zhangjiakou city, Hebei province. Based on abundant solar resources and natural pasture environment, this project has been designed as ‘livestock + solar’ model. We used higher precast pipe pile to build the PV panel bracket, so we used top area to place our PV panel to power generating and left enough space under the PV panel bracket for local farmers for plantation. This kind of cooperation model increases the comprehensive utilization of land, environmental protection, and improves ecological breeding, etc.
The most important thing for local poor families is this project can provide annual subsidy of 2.8 million Yuan for them, lasting 20 years, and totally 56 million Yuan, this amount of money will all be used for the case of poverty alleviation.
